Services and Rates

My goal is to support music and I beleive in doing whatever it takes to make that happen. I work my ass off for any band I work with and I would be happy to give you references.

General Rate: $40/hr

Desert Den Studios are free for me, other studios will charge extra. This rate covers most recording, mixing, mastering, producing, and repairs. However I do run many services at fixed prices or different rates as listed below.

Fixed pricing is a base for "typical" songs. For lots of extra features or requests, an hourly rate will be set

.

Mixing: $75-$350 per song depending on complexity

This includes 3-mix revisions attended or unattended. Estimates will be given after hearing the tracks, a rough mix, and meeting with you about your musical vision.

Audio Mastering: $25 per song up to 7 minutes

Final polish on a mix. This makes the mix translate to other systems and get the volume to match commercial CD's

CD Pre-Mastering: $40 per audio CD

This is final preparation for duplication. I layout the songs on the CD, normalize track volumes (within creative constraints), embed CD-TEXT and ISRC codes, check for BELR errors, and give you Red-Book standard Cue Sheets for the duplicator. I can also coordinate with the duplicator so you don't have to.

Drum Editing: $40 per song with click

Tightens the drums to the metronome but still keeping the groove. Trust me the difference is huge and will make your recordings much tighter. If there is no click track grid, then an hourly rate will be charged to make one.

Vocal Tuning/Editing, Song Rearrangment, Guitar/Bass/Performance Tuning/Editing: $30/hr

Wonders can be done today in the age of digital recording. Performance is everything and everyone is human. Even the pro's are edited to some degree. This editing will take your recordings to the next level.

Amp, Guitar, and Electronic Repair: $40/hr - $20 bench fee

Bench fee is a non-refundable, up-front cost for troubleshooting that will be put towards the repair. Guitar Set-ups, intontation, pickups, electronics, tube amp re-tube and biasing, pot cleaning, jacks, speakers, etc.

Dynamic Web and Database Development: $130/hr

My day job, so to do any extra I charge a lot, but still less per hour than having that Geeky Squad come to your house. I am not the best graphic designer, but I do very advanced high-level database and web development. Search engines, shopping carts, advanced editing and dynamic content, etc. PHP, Perl, AJAX, Javascript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Java, ASP, CSS, etc.

Graphic Design/Studio Musician/Artist Management/Photography/Video: Negotiable

If I can't do it, I have connections with many talented people that do.
